About Us
Our Story
Rabbi Levi Israel and Rebbetzin Ilana Kanevsky have dedicated their lives to Jewish education, hospitality, and community building.
Before moving to Melbourne, they served the Jewish community of Kamianske, Ukraine, helping individuals and families connect with Jewish traditions, learning, and community life.
After arriving in Australia, they continued their mission in the most natural way possible — by opening their home and welcoming others to share in the warmth of Jewish life.
What began with a few guests around the Shabbat table gradually grew into a vibrant community initiative, bringing together individuals and families from across Melbourne.
Today, Or Torah continues to grow through Torah learning, Shabbat hospitality, holiday celebrations, family programs, acts of kindness, and meaningful personal relationships.
At the heart of everything remains the same simple belief:
